Hailing from South London, Ivan started his creative life as a DJ (Ministry of Sound, Scala) and co-producer and keyboardist with band Kid Karoshi, featured on BBC 6 Music. Following this Ivan realised his first short film Grow Up in 2011. Organisation CALM officially supported the film, which led it being featured at the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF), Cannes Short Film Corner, several other festivals and on UK television. Ivan followed this up with shorts Can’t Get Past and Underwear, both playing at the Reelgate International Film Festival in the UK and Philippines. Ivan went on to write and direct campaigns for charities including VSO, Ricefield Collective and CALM. He also co-founded and directed an education film programme GUTFilm for 6-11 year olds, which included guest speaker Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast, Under the Skin). Ivan’s last short Child in Their Eyes, featured in Shorts in the South (BFI Film Audience Network) and BUFF 2016. Metro.co.uk quoted BUFF as “Officially the leading film festival for diversity in the world”.
