“POST-TRUTH: Relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.
In this era of post-truth politics, it’s easy to cherry-pick data and come to whatever conclusion you desire”
We make films in a world where fiction can seamlessly become fact. Story telling is about bringing across a point of view, whilst maintaining the truth behind it.
It may be a “convenient truth” for the storyteller to use their ideas as an excuse to mask out any facts. Who says we’re making fiction that is closer to the truth. It’s all up for debate and that’s part of the joy of filmmaking. We just want to be able to tell stories with purpose, with integrity that can cause people to stop and think about something that doesn’t generally cross their mind.
It may all sound like a mixed bag of contradiction, or even just a load of hogwash. But, if you can get across telling something with truth behind it, within an entertaining story then that’s fried gold right there. For Hentucky, that’s all that matters for us.
Our current focus is moving from shorts to features within the dramatic narrative. Sardonic but optimistic is what we want to be. Can those two worlds ever meet? That’s for you to tell, but we can give it a jolly old shot.
Come join us on our journey.
