- KING BELL

King Bell (featuring Chima Anya) by hentuckymusic
Collaborating with Chima Anya, King Bell is a fun time banger with a sentimental heart. The concept is about sampling a song written by William Bell about a tribute to Otis Redding or “The King” and turning it on its head. Otis Redding died at the age of 26 in a plane crash, so William Bell wrote a tribute looking at his short life and what it could have been if he lived longer (Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay was released a month after his death).
Chima took that concept and sentiment and flipped it round. As rather having a song about someone who died young, it was turned into a song about celebrating the full life of a lady who died at 100.
